Morning rides @ 9:35 AM

This morning I woke up and text Garrison at 7:10 and said, "Am I taking you?" He had an 8am midterm and told me last night he needed to get to the light rail by 7:00. I only had two options to choose from: 1. He rode his bike and didn't say goodbye. 2. He's downstairs reading, studying, or sleeping and has no idea he's late and will probably miss the next train. It was option #2.
He was in the room at 7:11 and said something along the lines of, I'm going to shower and then we need to leave. Got it.

I got out of bed, got dressed for driving (read: sweatpants and a long sleeve shirt!!!), went downstairs for my glasses, wallet, shoes, and keys, then I sat. By the time we left the house it was pushing 7:19. The next train was at 7:21 and the one after that wasn't scheduled to be there until 7:35. I switched seats with the manic law student and we took off toward Tempe. If it hadn't been for the crazed look on Garrison's face as he got closer and closer to the school, though I'm sure he felt he'd never get there, we probably would have discussed the weather. Not arbitrarily or just for conversation, but because it was gorgeous this morning.

After I dropped Garrison off and wished him the best of luck on his exams, I rolled the windows down to breathe in the 67 degree morning air that only 7:45 am drives offer. The overcast sky was perfect against the bright blue AZure that I've grown fond of. I couldn't help but smile. Arizona is beautiful.
