aprise! @ 5:32 PM
Remember that
one time that I got engaged to my boyfriend? I married that boyfriend. He is now: hubbs.
So, let's do a little math: engaged(boyfriend)+October 14th 2010 = married to
said boyfriend (making him hubbs) on October 14th 2010 in the beautiful
Mesa Temple. That was exactly one year and four days ago.
This weekend we celebrated our anniversary. Today, however, we were able to give each other our gifts. Although there are "rules" for the gifts to be given on the first anniversary hubbs and I were just lucky to be able to have gifts for one another that we held off giving to each other before the big day. We were SO good, in fact, that we failed to bring our gifts with us this weekend. (In my defense I still don't have the gift so I didn't leave mine...but I had to make the hubbs feel better so I couldn't very well give him his gift). Needless to say, we waited until today to give one another our gifts (fate would have it that I actually didn't have to go into work today, thank you, Fate!).
We anxiously let one another get their gifts together before sitting together in the living room with our gifts behind our backs and the camera at the ready as we traded turns and the camera to capture each of the moments of the other. The gifts that we received were: tickets to the
Sundance Film Festival (I KNOW, RIGHT?!) and...wait for it, wait for it, an anniversary band (for my ring)!!! I have been sadly wishing, in vain, that I'd one day be able to get another band for my ring but knowing that it couldn't happen because my ring is one of a kind and is no longer made and thus the band will never be a part of the "set" that I currently wear. (so I thought). Hubbs was sneaky and about six months ago went to the store and purchased the other band before they stopped making my ring and brought it home to give to me for our anniversary--homeboy had my gift in the house for the last six months! Little trickster! Today was a great day and it had a wonderful surprising celebration tossed in the middle. I love my new ring and I absolutely LOVE that cute hubbs of mine. What a lucky girl I am to have that man as my husband.
