going under @ 8:55 AM
Yesterday the hospital called to let me know that my 630 surgery had been moved to 730, awesome! Gar rearranged his schedule so he could be with me all day, something I am truly grateful of--have I mentioned that my hubbs is best?
I must admit that I have mixed emotions about going under the knife to finally be pain free. It's not that I doubt my pain will be gone, I just don't want to have those drugs in my system--you know, the ones they use to knock ya out? No thanks. I guess it's really just a notch or two up from the perpetual state of "druggedness" I've been in for the past month as I've waited to go under the knife. Thanks Doc, you made this semester the best one yet (though I may have an influenced bias, ha)!
The time has come. They've already taken my blood, those leeches. (I jest). The hubbs nearly passed out (that's not a jest, nor is it an exaggeration--wanna see that boy squirm, get a needle out or show him your new wounds, gets him every time).
I've posted a few "pre-opp" photos below--mainly for comic relief, enjoy. I'll be back a better woman!
What this photo fails to show is just how "poofy" my blankets were.
That hose on the left, it's pumping hot air into pockets in my robe; BEST. THING. EVER!!!
Drugged and scared to leave the hubbs. Notice how big
the gown is--from my chest to my chin--that's hot air!
