a beautiful day in the neighborhood @ 2:31 PM

WOWZA!
Talk about a gorgeous day!
Provo hasn't had one of these days in quite some time.
[believe me, I've been keeping tabs]
Gar had his weekly LSAT test [prep] today & the lovely
OVERSLEPT
No biggie, that's what wives are for--chauffeuring the hubbs
when they've overslept on Saturdays. Oh, I jest.

It was nice to be needed so urgently, though next time I'd much
prefer being needed for something that didn't require my utmost
attention--ahem, driving immediately after waking up is like
unto driving under the influence, it is in fact driving under the influence...
of a nights rest not complete, guilty as charged--I'll be sure to let the
hubbs know that needing to be rushed out of the house is okay under the
following circumstances only:
1. the house is on fire
2. ice cream truck rounding the corner of our street
3. flight leaves in 2 hours
but really only #1. I don't need ice cream and if the flight leaves in 2 hours
we'll miss the flight regardless of my rushing out the door.

On that note, [I just sound so cheery, eh?] today was a big day for me.
I got my hair done, in Provo!
A little "updating" is necessary in understanding this momentous occasion:
I grew up spoiled. No, really. My mom does hair. She did mine, constantly.
To be honest, she probably overdid the hair thing because I was always
getting my hair done and now I go about a month or two before I really
need some major work done. I used to gawk at people when they said
it had been a month or two since their last hair cut--spoiled.
With that, I moved away to college. Insert scared face.
My hair still grew, albeit in it's own time frame, but there was growth
nonetheless. Being far away from home made me hair sick.
Three weeks, passed. Four weeks. Six weeks and still no hair trim or color.
I was a mess. I needed a fix. [ridiculous, I know]
Enter best friend, Jen. What a heaven hair-send! She took me to her
salon in Logan and that, was my first hair cut from someone other
than my mother. It looked great, for what I wanted.
[first cut: 2007]
After that appointment and success I continued to return to StudioK
until I left Utah for Delaware in the summer of 2008. I had a bad
experience with one of the stylists in Feb. of 2008 and my hair was
still recovering from that incident the entire summer/fall of 2008
[let's just say my hair resembled cotton-candy]
In December I decided it was time to find a stylist, by this time my
mom was having surgery on her shoulder [rotator cuff] which left
me stylistless, so my search began for a stylist in Delaware.
Enter, Elayne James and my stylist and friend, Sam.
My hair had been thrashed in Utah and it needed some serious
TLC, which Sam delivered. I also lost about an inch, which is
a whole lot when you don't have any hair. I trusted her though.
And I still do, because she's amazing!

In 2009, I moved to Arizona. Again, thanks to Jen, I found a
GREAT hairstylist who helped me to get my hair darker, like
I've always wanted. Chelsea is a spectacular hairstylist, I've never
been disappointed with anything she's ever done with my hair.
She even did my hair when we got married in October 2010.
Without a trial run or picture. She's incredible.

Now that I'm in Utah for another year [and married] I figured it
was about time that I found a hairstylist in the area, and I did.
Shep Studio is literally down the street from our apartment and it's
really neat and modern. My new stylist, Chanel, made me feel right
at home, as if I had known her forever. Since our DE reception
I've been progressively adding highlights to my hair in preparation
for this summer. Instead of going back to the darker colors I had
when we were married, I opted for some blonde highlights again.
My hair looks GREAT! I absolutely love the color and cut!
[new do-don't mind my tired eyes]
This process of trusting people to do my hair has been a long one
but it has been so very rewarding to finally have people in the areas
that I live [have lived] to do my hair. What a blessing!

Now I guess the only thing I need in order to be ready for graduation
is a dress and my cap and gown...oh, and a diploma!
Hurrah, for beautiful weather, new hair styles, graduation in a week
and a summer with my hunny in front of me!
