messy house>clean house @ 7:51 PM
Most Saturdays I wake up happy, unusually happy. I get excited about my uh-obsessive
habit of cleaning on Saturdays, usually. Today was not that day. Not by a long shot.
My dad is coming to visit us tomorrow. HOORAY! That means, however, that we
had a very large cleaning spree in order. Considering our house looked a bit like this:
After a few hours and a ton of VERY necessary breaks, our house still isn't much better.
It is in the process of being clean though, so that's a great start. I guess. It is a mystery to
me how our house got this messy. Laundry is done about twice a week. Our dishes are
always washed when we use them. Maybe it has something to do with the actual
putting away of our clothes, maybe. I just hate hanging up our clothes. I'll fold clothes
any day, I just get tired of hangers after about, oh two minutes. That's probably where
all of this started. A basket of clothes in our bedroom we promised we'd put away and
didn't. Then that basket turned into the clothing blob and well the rest is a mess.
Currently, the NBA dunk contest is taking over our living room but the blob has been
taken care of, thanks to Garrison's chivalry. He really wanted to watch the contest, I guess.
One day, hopefully tomorrow, our house will look like this:
That's what is called wishful thinking. When I have a house and more money
our bedroom will look like this, or something bright and open. Ah! Can't wait.
Until that day, my new motto is this:
Although it's only partially true because most of my life was wasted "playing" today.
I wouldn't take it back though. I love Saturdays with the hubbs. He's the best.
We're young. We're college students. We're both currently off on all Saturdays...
this will never happen again, until we're too old to enjoy our time together.
We're gonna live it up. Starting now.
