I lub you. @ 9:05 AM

My baby sister got into the habit of saying "i lub you" when she was just
little. Now she still says it because we all say it to each other. I think it's
precious when little kids learn how to say things that adults say, especially
something as special as "I love you." I'll always think, "I lub you" is better
because it came from the heart of my baby sister. It comes from my heart
today, Garrison- I LUB YOU!!! Don't worry. This won't be a mushy,
gushy, lubby-dubby post, promise!

It's Valentines Day! Hooray. The one day of the year I purposefully wear
everything that I can find in pink. It's such a happy day. Even if it is a
commercialized way to celebrate love. What better way to celebrate 4 entire
months of being married to my best friend? I can't think of a better way.

Garrison shocked and surprised me with the most memorable morning EVER.
He overslept. Received a wake up call. Jumped out of bed. Got dressed?
Did his hair. Put his eyes in. Got all of his things together. Then left.
That might be slightly out of order but he did most of those things if not more in
about five minutes?

Pah! Boys. They are so cool. They can get ready in five minutes and still look good.
I'm over it. Though very impressed. Or so I text him. Then I heard a phone go off.
Thinking I was hearing things I sent another message wishing him a very HAPPY
FIRST MARRIED VALENTINES DAY! The response I receive was another
sound, from the living room. I got up to investigate. Then I found this:

To my surprise homeboy had left his phone on the ottoman when he rushed out
the door. I text one of his carpool buddies to inform him that Gar left his phone
(so they didn't text him throughout the day expecting a returned message)
I laid back down-something I shouldn't have done-to rest for a few more minutes
before I attempted to rush out the door in a similar fashion to Garrison when all
of a sudden there's a pounding at the door. I get up. Put my robe on so I don't
scare the person at the door. Grab Garrison's phone (hoping it's him). Then the
doorbell rings. I don't want to complain but FOR REAL, BABE?! I just sent a
text to you. It's not like I'm fast asleep in some slumber-I'm walking to the door.
I open the door and it was as if a tidal wave had burst through. I am still holding
his phone. He rushes into the bedroom-every light goes on in the house. He's
moving stuff around like some crazed squirrel looking for his winters nuts. I then
realize he's looking for his wallet, it's on the floor. I pick that up. I'm still holding
his phone. I call his name. He turns around. Smiles. Takes both items. Kisses me.
Then he's running out the door, again. All the lights are still on. He says "Thank You"
at the door and "I love you" as he kisses me one more time before I shut the door.
Then he's gone.
15 Minutes of Mayhem.
Just to wake up.
What a wonderful way to start off our first Valentines Day as a married couple.
I'm so glad we celebrated on Saturday otherwise today might have been a bit
less...romantic?

What I loved about this morning was the way we were able to laugh at the
situation (okay, maybe I laughed but I'm sure Garrison would laugh now).
We just did what had to be done. Was I startled by his jumping out of the
bed? Of course! Did I care? Certainly not. Homeboy overslept, so?
It's okay. What's more, he left his wallet and his phone. He missed my text
that said "Happy first Married Valentines Day" really, that's nothing. It's a
text. What matters is that we love each other. We showed that to one another
by helping out. That's love.

Garrison called me later, once he got to Salt Lake, and wished me a very
Happy Valentines day as I was getting ready for class. It meant so much
to me to hear from him. To hear his voice and to share that moment together.

Later today we'll order pizza, watch a movie, and cuddle. That's the perfect
recipe for Valentines Day, if you ask me.
Happy Day of Love!!!
